Michael Molinari

Responsibilities
Michael Molinari assists clients with all aspects of the claim process and is responsible for receiving, analyzing and submitting claims to insurance carriers on behalf of the organization’s clients. Additionally, he consults with clients on coverage analysis, provides guidance and direction, assists in negotiations with insurers and monitors open claims. He works closely with clients to ensure that the insurance carriers provide prompt and fair claim handling and advocates on behalf of clients to ensure claims are resolved in their best interest.

Background
Michael has been an insurance claim professional for more than 30 years, including 20 years at a management level. Prior to joining Conner Strong & Buckelew, he spent 12 years at GEICO where he served as a Claim Supervisor managing Automobile property & casualty claims. Before GEICO, he spent 10 years at AIG where he served in various roles including Claim Supervisor, Claim Team Leader managing complex, high-exposure multi-line property & casualty claims from the majority of jurisdictions throughout the country.

 

Paul Shives

Responsibilities
Paul Shives consults primarily with local governments and municipal joint insurance funds on all aspects of safety and loss control. Along with his service team, Shives assists clients in addressing workers compensation and general liability exposures, as well as property issues, product liability, and motor vehicle safety. He is responsible for performing safety training and loss control analysis and prevention as well as conducting underwriting surveys, developing safety action plans and coordinating loss control services and activities. He is currently the Safety Director for the following joint insurance funds: Municipal Excess Liability (MEL), Monmouth, Ocean, Central Jersey, and Mid Jersey Joint Insurance funds.

Background
Paul has over 40 years of experience in the local municipal government management field, including over 30 years of service as a Commissioner and Chairperson on local and statewide joint insurance fund boards including the Monmouth JIF, Ocean JIF, Municipal Excess Liability Joint Insurance Fund (MEL), NJ Environmental Joint Insurance Fund (EJIF) and the Residual Claims Fund JIF (RCF). Additionally, he served on the Claims Review Committees for all of the Joint Insurance Funds and was the Chairman of the Super Storm Sandy claims committee. Shives also has over 18 years of college teaching experience as an Adjunct Instructor of Political Science.

Ken Bogdan

Responsibilities
Ken Bogdan has been with Conner Strong & Buckelew for over 20 years. In this role, he provides safety services to our Property & Casualty client base and manages a team of dynamic loss control professionals. Ken works with clients in various industries including, but not limited to, construction, public entity, manufacturing, healthcare, real estate management, hospitality, and gaming. Consulting services provided by Ken include loss trending and analysis, loss control surveys OSHA compliance training, emergency response, site-specific health and safety plans, and addressing issues related to workers’ compensation, general liability, property and motor vehicle exposure issues.

Since joining Conner Strong & Buckelew in 2002, Ken and his team have grown to become a premier safety and loss control consulting group providing services all over the country. He also works with large to mid-size contractors to assist with OSHA compliance, insurance matters, training, and accident investigation.

Background
Ken has more than 30 years of experience in Environmental Health & Safety and Risk Management. Prior to joining Conner Strong & Buckelew, he served as the Director of Loss Prevention for Boyd Gaming on the Borgata Casino Hotel construction project in Atlantic City where he was responsible for management of the Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP). In this capacity, he was responsible for site safety, security, accident reporting and investigations, claims management and various other issues related to the administration of the OCIP for a $2 billion project. During his tenure, the project logged more than 2.5-million-man hours and maintained an outstanding loss record.

Prior to working at the Borgata, he worked for more than seven years as the Corporate Health and Safety Director for an environmental remediation and demolition contractor. He has served as the Construction Chairman of NJASSP and is an active member of the Mid-Atlantic Construction Safety Council and serves on the Safety Committee Utility and Transportation Contractors Association of New Jersey (UTCANJ). He is a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and an authorized OSHA Construction Outreach Trainer.

Eric Voight

Responsibilities
Eric Voight provides safety and loss control consulting services to clients in a variety of industries including Construction. Eric facilitates the training required to be in compliance with OSHA Construction Standards, including, but not limited to OSHA 10 & 30 Hour Construction Outreach courses. Eric works with clients in addressing workers’ compensation, general liability, property and motor vehicle safety.

Background
Eric has over 24 years of experience in safety and risk management, construction safety and environmental management. Prior to joining Conner Strong & Buckelew, Eric was a Regional Safety Manager for PSEG Energy Technologies where he was responsible for managing and implementing safety and health duties for 8 construction companies. He managed construction and integrated the EHS cultures of acquired companies into one common set of EHS goals and action plans for PSEG. Before PSEG, Eric worked as a Health and Safety Manager for Washington Group/ Raytheon Engineers Constructors where he developed, implemented and enforced all construction health and safety programs related to O&M, mechanical, pulp & paper and power plants. United States Army recognized him as Civilian Safety Person of the Year and awarded him with Command Sergeant Majors Safety Award.

Community Involvement
Eric is the Construction Practice Specialty Website Coordinator of the American Society of Safety Engineers, and was former Penn Jersey President. He is involved in BuildSafe NJ and is a member of the Mid Atlantic Construction Safety Council. He is also the Local Emergency Management Coordinator for the Borough of Swedesboro.

Joseph McGettigan

Responsibilities
Joe McGettigan has been with the firm for over 10 years. Our Risk Control Department provides safety and risk control consulting services to clients in a variety of industries including Construction, Public Entity, Hospitality & Gaming, Healthcare and Manufacturing. Services provided by McGettigan include high level ergonomics consulting and other safety services to our Property & Casualty customer base. He also works closely with clients to address issues related to workers’ compensation, general liability, and property exposure issues.

Background
McGettigan has over 30 years of experience in corporate Ergonomics, Safety, and Preventive Health Management. His experience includes serving as Director of Corporate Preventative Health Services for Rohm and Haas Company, a Fortune 500 chemical company based in Philadelphia; founding an ergonomics consulting firm of his own; and working as a Senior Ergonomist globally with ESIS Health Safety and Environmental Services. His extensive knowledge in issues such as manual material handling and ergonomics in virtually any office, lab, health care and manufacturing setting, and trainings in a variety of safety and health topics has helped clients in all of these settings from small worksites up through enterprise wide systems in large Fortune 500 Companies.

McGettigan has developed and implemented corporate safety programs including musculoskeletal injury intervention programs ranging from isolated safety meetings through comprehensive, site-wide ergonomic monitoring and surveillance systems. He has also developed programs in Safe Patient Handling, Office Ergonomics, Back-Care & Conditioning, Manual Material Handling techniques, Train-the- Trainer, Stress Management, and a wide variety of Health/Wellness topics.  He has also spearheaded programs using wearable technologies for clients. He formerly served as a technical advisor for the Office Ergonomic Research Committee.

Gregory Hanusey

Responsibilities
Gregory Hanusey is responsible for developing, implementing, and directing risk control and safety programs using a strategic and tactical approach with our large and geographically dispersed clients. His core competencies include risk and safety administration, regulatory compliance, training and development, mentoring, policy & procedural development, physical safety audits and inspections, and disaster planning.

Background
Gregory has over 30 years of progressive experience in a variety of risk and safety disciplines. Prior to joining Conner Strong & Buckelew, Gregory was the Corporate Director of Risk Control for the Caesars Entertainment Corporation which was comprised of 70,000+ employees and more than forty casinos, hotels, racetracks and golf course locations along with aviation and commercial laundry divisions across fifteen states. During the last seven years of Gregory’s leadership at Caesars he posted OSHA recordable injuries and lost time incident results consistently 20% to 40% below the USDOL industry average. In the past three years, Gregory has implemented programs which have driven down the frequency and severity of workers compensation claims and their associated costs at his current assignment as the Risk/Safety Director for The Michaels Organization (TMO). TMO is one of the largest affordable, senior, military and student housing real estate management and development companies in the United States. TMO currently has operations in thirty-five States, the District of Colombia, and the US Virgin Islands.

Gregory has also served as a safety professional during the construction and renovation of casinos/hotels and housing communities. He is currently licensed as a NJDCA Construction Official, Fire Subcode Official, Building Inspector-HHS and Fire Protection Inspector-HHS. Gregory is also certified by the NJDFS as a Fire Official/Inspector and has received certifications from; NTSB-Aircraft Accident Investigations; OSHA-30 Hr Construction and ServSafe-Food Safety Management.

Sean Mcilhenney

Responsibilities
Sean Mcilhenney provides safety and loss control services for clients in manufacturing, energy, logistics, real estate management, public entity, and transportation. The lines of insurance coverage he works with daily would include workers’ compensation, auto, property, and general liability.

Sean’s safety consulting services focus on risk reduction through engineering and administrative controls, OSHA intervention, loss control surveys, training, accident investigation, contractor safety, worker injury management, fleet & safety manual development. His main objective is to help clients implement practical layers of protection that will help reduce risk in all lines of coverage.

Background
Sean has more than 25 years of industry experience. Before joining Conner Strong & Buckelew in 2017, he spent his time in private industry in the energy sector. With a diverse background, his previous positions were Oil Refining Safety and Health Superintendent, Safety Coordinator for process unit maintenance projects, DOT Pipeline Safety Coordinator, Refining Operations Management, Fuel Terminal Operations Management, DOT Hazmat Trucking Supervision, and Quality Assurance Coordinator.

Sean Walker

Responsibilities
Sean Walker provides safety and loss control services to construction managers, contractors, and facility owners. These services include OCIP risk control support, loss control audits, safety training, and interaction with insurance carriers. Walker also provides consultative services on industrial hygiene and occupational exposure, OSHA compliance audits, site-specific health and safety plans, and issues related to workers’ compensation, general liability, property and motor vehicle exposure.

Background
Walker has more than 30 years of experience in regulatory and safety compliance management for the construction, environmental remediation, education, dismantling, and chemical manufacturing industries. Prior to joining Conner Strong & Buckelew, he worked as the Safety Manager for Conti Enterprises. He has consulted on hundreds of projects for federal, public, and private-sector clients in the northeastern United States and the Gulf coast region. Walker worked on various projects including: Rehabilitation of the St. George Ferry terminal ramps, Staten Island, NY; Horseshoe Road Superfund Site, Sayreville, NJ; Lake Ponchartrain and West Bank Levy Projects, New Orleans, LA; and Route 18 improvements – Section 2F, 7E & 11H, New Brunswick, NJ. Walker managed the safety programs on these projects as well as coordinating safety efforts with multiple city and state agencies. Additionally, he conducted and provided oversight for occupational exposure assessment and controls for a number of hazardous waste and lead abatement projects.
