Kenneth Bogdan leads the Private Sector group of J.A. Montgomery, a division of Conner Strong & Buckelew, which primarily serves the construction industry. He and his team provide safety and loss control services to construction managers, contractors and facility owners. These services include OCIP risk control support, full-time site safety management, loss control audits, safety training and interaction with insurance carriers. Consulting services provided by Bogdan include loss trending and analysis, underwriting surveys, OSHA compliance audits, Site-specific Health and Safety Plans, and addressing issues related to workers’ compensation, general liability, property and motor vehicle exposure issues.
Since joining J.A. Montgomery in 2002, Bogdan and his team have managed safety on several large projects including the Tropicana Casino Garage Collapse Demolition, The Borgata North Expansion and The Borgata Water Club High Rise Tower project. Most recently, they have been retained to supplement site safety efforts at the Taj Mahal Tower Expansion OCIP by providing a full time Site Safety Manager to the owner. He also works with large to mid-size contractors to assist with OSHA compliance, insurance matters, training and accident investigation.
Bogdan has more than 20 years of experience in health and safety management in the area of construction and environmental remediation. Prior to joining J.A. Montgomery, he served as the Director of Loss Prevention for Boyd Gaming on the Borgata Casino Hotel construction project in Atlantic City where he was responsible for management of the Owner Controlled Insurance Program (OCIP). In this capacity, he was responsible for site safety, security, accident reporting and investigations, claims management and various other issues related to the administration of the OCIP. During his tenure, the project logged more than 2.5 million man hours and maintained an outstanding loss record.
Prior to working at the Borgata, he worked for more than seven years as the Corporate Health and Safety Coordinator for an environmental remediation and demolition contractor. He is the Construction Chairman of NJASSE and has certifications as 40 Hour Hazwopper, AHERA Building Inspector and OSHA Construction Outreach Trainer.
