Responsibilities
Tammy Brown has over 35 years of Large Group Underwriting and Account Management experience. As an Executive Partner in our Employee Benefits Department, Tammy is responsible for developing and implementing the overall strategy for the Public Entity and Health Insurance Fund Practice, including strategic planning, benefit evaluations, financial analysis, and management of all vendor partners with a focus on underwriting and data management. Tammy also oversees training for the firm’s employee benefits team members. Under her leadership, the training team built and executed a comprehensive curriculum that provides a solid foundation for the firm’s employee benefits team members and supports our client’s strategic vision.

Background
Tammy joined Conner Strong in December of 2007. Previously, Tammy was the Underwriting Director for Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey for 16 years. During her tenure there, she was responsible for all large group customers with fifty or more employees including midsize, public sector, jumbo, national, and labor business. Her primary charge was to generate top-line revenue and bottom-line financial results for Horizon. In that capacity, she was responsible for the risk assessment, pricing, underwriting, and data reporting for all new business, renewals, and settlement activity which exceeded $3 billion in annual top-line revenue. Tammy was also responsible for developing strategic pricing initiatives to keep pace with the ever-changing marketplace conditions. Prior to joining Horizon, Tammy was an Underwriting Consultant for the Equitable’s Group Health Division for 11 years.
