Responsibilities
Daniel Brettler has 30 years of risk management & insurance experience devoted exclusively to the life science & technology industries. He is responsible for the effective delivery of risk management & insurance products and services to clients. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring responsiveness and the delivery of high quality advice from account management teams, maintaining internal process controls, developing and nurturing life science insurance company relationships, producing new client opportunities, and growing the practice within the strategic plan of the overall insurance brokerage firm.

Background
Brettler began his insurance career as an account executive servicing multi-national clients for one of the largest insurance brokerage firms in the world. After having been principal of a regional life science and technology brokerage firm, Brettler founded and developed his own life science & technology firm, Brettler Financial Group, which he ultimately merged with Conner Strong & Buckelew. He continues as the Practice Leader of this highly specialized division.

During his time in the insurance industry, Brettler has been repeatedly recognized by leading life science insurance companies for his innovative ideas and development activities in creating coverage enhancements that respond to emerging industry risks. Most recently, Brettler was recognized by Risk & Insurance as a 2022 Pharmaceuticals Power Broker. Furthermore, he has been acknowledged as a driving force behind the use of technology that automates policy issuance of Human Clinical Trial insurance throughout the world. In addition, Brettler has been a frequent participant in national internal training for leading insurance company underwriter education sessions. Brettler is recognized by several state biotechnology associations as being a significant contributor to local life science initiatives for the enhancement of the industry.

Applying his risk management and insurance experience to development stage companies through large international commercial pharmaceutical enterprises, Brettler’s expertise includes Products Liability, Human Clinical Trials, Directors’ & Officers’ Liability, Property/Supply Chain, and Errors & Omissions, among other leading coverages.
