Responsibilities
Michael Avalone has served 20 years as the Risk Management Consultant to the Ocean County Municipal Joint Insurance Fund, which includes 31 municipalities, and also to the Monmouth County Joint Insurance Fund, which includes 36 municipalities. He is also the Risk Manager for 28 members of the New Jersey Utilities Authorities Joint Insurance Fund and the Risk Management Consultant/ Broker to the Ocean County Utilities Authority. Additionally, Avalone serves as the Risk Management Consultant for two members of the New Jersey Public Housing Authority Joint Insurance Fund.
Avalone is the Underwriting Manager for the New Jersey Municipal Environmental Joint Insurance Fund which provides environmental liability insurance and risk management to over 300 public entities in New Jersey.
Background
Prior to joining Conner Strong, Avalone worked for the Aetna Life & Casualty Company where he managed the underwriting and placement activities of 60 Philadelphia and suburb insurance agencies. Additionally, he introduced automation-based marketing programs to generate new business.

Community Involvement
Avalone is the former president of New Jersey Young Insurance Professionals. He has also had involvement with the Young Agents Council, Professional Insurance Agents and the Public Risk and Insurance Management Association. He is currently a member of the Ocean County Mayors' Association and the Municipal Utility Authorities Association participating to raise scholarship funds for post secondary education.
