Responsibilities
John Lapatchka is Vice President and Public Sector Director of Conner Strong Risk Control. He consults primarily with local governments and municipal joint insurance funds on all aspects of safety and loss control. Along with his service team, he assists clients with respect to addressing workers compensation, general liability exposures, property issues, products liability and motor vehicle safety. In addition, he conducts underwriting surveys, develops safety action plans and coordinates loss control services and activities and is also responsible for safety training and loss control analysis and prevention. He is currently the Safety Director for the following local JIFs: Bergen, Camden, Central, Mid-Jersey, Monmouth, Morris, Ocean, South Bergen and Suburban.
Background
Lapatchka has over 28 years of progressive experience in the safety field. Prior to joining Conner Strong in 2000, he spent time providing loss control services to a variety of risks throughout the Mid-Atlantic states from New York to Washington D.C. He was responsible for coordinating loss control services for regional and national risk management accounts. He also conducted evaluations of client management controls, developed them and then implemented service action plans to improve the risks.
Lapatchka has been responsible for the productivity and effectiveness of loss control staff members both with Wausau Insurance and Crum & Foster Insurance. He was responsible for training and providing technical assistance to consultants and developing and presenting numerous safety education programs to meet the client's special needs.
