William Kimmel

Vice President, Senior Employee Benefits Consultant

Responsibilities
William Kimmel is a Vice President and Senior Consultant for the Employee Benefits Division of Conner Strong & Buckelew. He joined the firm in June, 2011. His responsibilities include account management, renewal negotiation, financial analysis, collective bargaining arrangements, and the review and introduction of new products to clients.

Background
Kimmel has more than 20 years experience in insurance and underwriting. Prior to joining Conner Strong & Buckelew, he was a Senior Underwriter and Risk Manager for Trion Group in Philadelphia. Kimmel was responsible for preparing monthly budget-to-actual reports, setting conventional equivalent rates, IBNRs, and designing contribution strategies for medium to large clients.

Before his employment with Trion Group, Kimmel worked for Mercer Health & Benefits for 14 years. Most recently, he was a Principal, with consulting revenue of $3M to $5M per year. He developed a national Plan Design Modeler, an application for Mercer medical and prescription drug benefit pricing changes. He was also the Project Manager for one of the largest Princeton/Philadelphia clients, supported by consultants in more than 20 Mercer offices across the country. While at Mercer, Kimmel also consulted with healthcare providers including Jefferson Healthcare System and St. Luke’s Hospital and Health Network.

Kimmel has consulted with small to large clients, ranging from education, financial services, government, heavy industry, to pharmaceutical companies. He also has experience in Taft-Hartley plans and collective bargaining agreements, previously serving as Director of Underwriting for Amalgamated Life.
